Frodsham’s most famous resident Djbril Cisse signs deal for UK team

FRODSHAM’S most famous footballer is heading back to village life after securing a big-money deal in the Premier League.

Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has this week completed a £4m move to Queen’s Park Rangers from Italian side Lazio, meaning he will be able to spend much more time at his home in Frodsham where he lives with wife Jude and their children.

The French international, 30, who holds the title Lord of the Manor of Frodsham, agreed the deal on Monday and has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the West London club.

Jude, who owns Rouge Et Noir, a luxury spa in Helsby, said she was ‘pleased’ that her husband will be able to spend more time at home.

“It’s good news and with the rail service from London to Chester being so fast, it will make things much easier,” she added.
