Inspector Sue Birkenhead visited to assess the quality and standards of early years provision.Š

The nursery, which opens Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 6pm for 51 weeks of the year, has 28 children on roll, according to her report.Š

There are seven staff including the manager, all of whom have appropriate qualifications.Š

The inspector describes the nursery as bright and welcoming and says the children are happy and secure.Š

Though many of the staff had only been in their posts for a short time, they worked well as a team.Š

The welfare, learning and development needs of the individual children were adequately met but there were some breaches of the welfare requirements.Š

Effective procedures were developing to ensure positive relationships with parents and carers.Š

Staff had identified some areas for future development and the nursery was working towards continuous development and better outcomes for the children.Š

Opportunities and experiences at the nursery contributed to the development of the youngsters’ future skills.Š
