M53 crash in Cheshire causes rush hour delays

EARLY morning commuters faced severe rush hour delays today (Wednesday, January 11) following a smash on the M53 motorway.

At about 7.50am, emergency crews were called to the motorway, near its intersection with the M56 after a motorcycle collided with two cars.

One lane was closed to clear the road but normal service has now been resumed.

One casualty was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.
