Hearing to assess severity of Hartford man’s assault

A MAN accused of banging a woman’s head dozens of times on the floor has pleaded guilty to assault.

Giles Liam McVernon, 36, of Hartford, admitted a charge of assaulting Lisa Buckley on November 24 last year.

Magistrates concluded there would be a Newton hearing in the magistrates court on February 3, when a judge will rule on how serious the assault charge is.

McVernon was bailed until that date, on condition he must not enter Beech Road, Hartford, go within 100 metres of Burntside Way, Wincham, Northwich, and must not contact Lisa Buckley directly or indirectly.
