Blacon man vandalised window belonging to Halford Tyres

A BLACON man who vandalised a window at Halford Tyres has been sentenced to a community order.

Mark Roberts, 28, of Durham Road, admitted damaging the window, valued at £549, belonging to the Saughall Road business on November 26.

Chester and Ellesmere Port Magistrates Court heard Roberts could not recall the incident as he had been drinking, but accepted the blame for the damage.

Roberts could not provide a rational explanation for what he did, adding he was not an alcoholic but a binge drinker.

Magistrates sentenced Roberts to a 12-month community order requiring he complete an alcohol activity programme and pay £549 compensation as well as £85 costs.
