FESTIVE staff from the Countess of Chester enjoyed lending a hand at a city supermarket to raise hundreds of pounds for a hospital in Uganda.
Staff from the pharmacy, radiology and nursing departments rolled up their sleeves to help shoppers rushing to buy their sprouts and turkeys at Morrisons in Upton last week.
After hours of bag packing the team were delighted to raise £798.55 for the Kisiizi Hospital in south-west Uganda, which will be used to buy additional mattresses for the hospital and provide ongoing support as part of the Programme that was started in 2008.
Teams of staff from the Countess regularly visit Kisiizi to advise, teach and support change to improve healthcare there.
