Ellesmere Port families welcome Christmas Day babies

FAMILIES in Chester and Ellesmere Port were celebrating the arrival of bouncing baby boys on Christmas Day.

But it was a midwife at the Countess of Chester Hospital, not Father Christmas, who delivered Joanna and Neil Conde’s first baby.

The couple had been given a due date of New Year’s Day, but everyone was pleasantly surprised when Joanna’s waters broke at 3am on Christmas morning.

Baby Oliver Alan Conde was born shortly after, weighing in at 8lb 4oz.

Nursery nurse Joanna, 24, of Wetherby Way, Little Sutton, remained in hospital on Tuesday as Oliver had a sore head from his delivery by forceps.

Joanna said: “It was the best Christmas present we could have hoped for.

“Our plans for Christmas Day were scuppered just a tad!”

As well as 27-year-old engineer husband Neil being by her side on December 25, Oliver’s grandmothers and aunties arrived to see him on Sunday.

Also born on Christmas Day was baby Tyler who weighed in at 7lb 7oz. Tyler’s mum is Becky Edwards of Upton, Chester.

Oliwer Zdeaowicz of Ellesmere Port, was born on December 25 and weighed just 3lb 10oz.
