CWaC say green mounds on Boughton Heath roundabout improve its attractiveness

GREEN hills on a controversial roundabout have been defended by Cheshire West and Chester Council who say they ‘improve its attractiveness’.

The comment comes after staff at Maxiflow, a building and roofing company off Whitchurch Road, who spent hours during the extensive tailbacks staring at the ‘pint-sized rolling hillocks’ questioned the point of the mounds on their company blog.

“They’re too tall to see over from your car or van, meaning that the removal of the trees because they ‘obstructed drivers’ vision’ was largely pointless,” the blog reads.

“They’re too small and uneven for attractive new features such as art installations.”

Responding to the comments a spokesperson for CWaC said that they had made every effort to make the roundabout as ‘attractive as possible’, saying: “The council has worked with CEG in landscaping the roundabout to improve its attractiveness and integrate it into its surroundings.

“There are no visibility issues in relation to signage with the landscaping design.

“Effort has been made to try to make something positive and attractive, improving the character and appearance of what is a main highways junction. Sadly you can’t always please everyone.”
