A PENSIONER was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation in Chester.
The 85-year-old woman was woken by her smoke alarm at about 9.15pm on Thursday, December 15.
Two fire engines from Chester fire stations were dispatched to the house on Stamford Road where they found there had been a small fire at an unattended cooker.
A bucket of water was used to extinguish the fire and an industrial fan was used to disperse the smoke while the crew gave oxygen therapy to the elderly woman.
She had fallen on her way to investigate the fire and was carried to safety by firefighters.
