Burglars steal Christmas presents from owner of cake shop in Handbridge

THE owner of a Handbridge cupcake boutique has been devastated after burglars broke into her store and stole all her children’s Christmas presents.

Mummy’s Yummys owner Karin Tong has now said she will have to start her Christmas shopping all over again, after the burglary at her shop on Tuesday night.

While the thieves didn’t take her baking materials, they did take her family’s Christmas presents, which she had stored in the shop for safekeeping.

To make matters worse, it is only just over a year since all Karin’s equipment, contacts and materials were destroyed in the fire that took hold of the Hoole Enterprise building where she previously based her business, prior to opening the Handbridge shop in June this year.

Karin said: “This is so upsetting. I’m just thankful that the business won’t be too affected.

“We’ll still be able to get all our Christmas orders out, but I will need to find some time to go and do some more Christmas shopping now that I have no gifts for my family and friends.”

Anyone who has any information regarding the burglary should contact Sgt Anton Sullivan or PCSO Jo Pendrey at Cheshire Constabulary by calling the 101 non-emergency number or phoning Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
