Slurry store approved at green belt farm complex near Frodsham

A SLURRY lagoon was proposed at a green belt farm to meet agricultural regulations.

The application was put forward at Forestgate Farm, Hondsclough Lane, Norley by Mr John Stephen Pickles.

The farm complex is surrounded by open fields, according to a report.

It is situated between the nearest residential properties and the proposed lagoon measuring 30m by 15m and 4.5m in depth.

The lagoon would be well screened by rising land and planting and would not be detrimental to the open character of that part of the borough’s green belt, planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council believed.

It would also be screened from the nearest residential properties 150m away and would not be detrimental to residential amenity.

The lagoon would be surrounded by a grassed mound and security fencing.

The application was recommended for approval as the lagoon would allow the farm to comply with the regulations.

The borough council agreed that permission could be granted for the additional slurry storage at the farm.
