Jigsaw Music Theatre company present The Snow Queen on Eastgate Street, Chester

CHRISTMAS shoppers in Chester last week were stopped in their tracks by a chilling story.

Youngsters from Jigsaw Music Theatre Company presented a pocket-sized version of The Snow Queen, outside Brown’s of Chester on Eastgate Street.

Penny Mitchell and Naomi Lush shared the role of the legendary ice maiden while members of the company took turns to play brother and sister Gerda and Kay.

The play was narrated by Callum Fowler, Charlie Garrett, Olivia McNee and Lauren Ralph.

The original production was directed by Millie Garrett with musical direction by Erin Elston. The script was devised by Will Wood.

Artistic director of Jigsaw, Theatre in the Quarter’s youth theatre, is Matt Baker.
