Chester Catholic High School wins North West regional rugby final

A YEAR 8 rugby team from Chester Catholic High School has won the North West regional final at Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club.

Teacher Neil Cross said: “The boys progressed from a tough group to defeat Childwall Sports College in the semi-final to set up a clash with the highly rated Sale Grammar School in the final. In a very tense match, captain Liam Eldridge forced his way over the line to score the winning try.

“The team have worked really hard on their game and it proves hard word pays off.”
