Countess of Chester Hospital porter jumps 10,000 ft from plane to raise funds

A COURAGEOUS hospital porter took dedication to his job to new heights in a bid to raise funds for much-needed equipment.

Nick Goold, of Ellesmere Port, completed a 10,000ft parachute jump from a plane to support the Countess of Chester Hospital, where he has worked for more than 12 years.

Nick is now on target to raise £2,000 towards new equipment for the hospital’s sensory room, which serves youngsters with special needs.

Nick said: “It is a really amazing feeling, just floating through the air. I would recommend it to anyone.”
