Not one Bonfire Night incident in Chester but crews come under siege in Ellesmere Port

FIREFIGHTERS did not attend one single incident involving fireworks in Chester on Bonfire Night.
However crews in Ellesmere Port dealt with about 10 incidents including one in Whitby Park at 9pm where firefighters came under siege from youths using fireworks as missiles.
Crews waited for the police to arrive to move on the youths before tackling the bonfire.
Due to the number of calls in Ellesmere Port from 4.30pm onwards, crews from Chester, Malpas and Tarporley were called for assistance.
