Extension agreed at late 1700s windmill near Chester

AN EXTENSION was agreed at a Grade II listed windmill dating back to the late 18th century.Š

The application was made at The Gibbet Windmill, Parkgate Road, Saughall by Mr S Buckley.

Mr Buckley told planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council he was seeking approval to demolish a single-storey extension at the side of the windmill, converted to a house in the 1960s and to erect a two-storey extension at the side and rear.Š

Solar panels would be fitted to a roof.Š

Conservation specialists believed plans submitted represented ‘a significant improvement’.
