Firefighters rescued a baby from a car in Blacon

FIREFIGHTERS rescued a four-month-old baby who got trapped in a car after the locks failed.

At about 4.20pm on Monday, firefighters were called to Brentwood Road, Blacon, after a mother was separated from her baby when the locks in her car stuck.

Firefighters from Chester Fire Station prised open a window to release the baby, while the grandmother and mother waited anxiously outside.

Firefighter Simon Gildea said the baby, who is a twin, was not hurt but fell asleep while firefighters spent 10 minutes rescuing it from the car.
