Children at primary school in Helsby celebrate glowing report from Ofsted

CHILDREN and staff at a Helsby school have received a glowing Ofsted report.

Helsby Hillside Primary School has been heralded as a exceedingly safe school where children say there is no bullying and they all look after each other.

Parents, children and teachers are now celebrating following the inspector’s report, which grades achievement levels as outstanding and praises teachers for their continuous commitment to their pupils.

In the report, Ofsted inspector Denise Shields said the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness was outstanding due to the level of teaching and interaction they received and said: “Overwhelmingly, pupils say they like school and enjoy learning.

“This is reflected in their consistently above-average attendance. Most concentrate well and are keen to succeed.”

The inspector goes on to praise the school’s headteacher as having a ‘strong leadership and a crystal clear vision for the school’s future’ as well as praising the healthy diets of the children, who are encouraged to eat fresh fruit and vegetables.

Headteacher Craig Richardson said the school were delighted with the report.

He said: “We feel that the inspection team recognised the many strengths of our school and the terrific care and guidance we provide for our pupils.

“They saw that the children really do like coming to school and enjoy their time here. They have also left us very clear goals of how we can improve further.”
