HUNDREDS of cakes were baked to celebrate a school’s centenary.
Year 10 catering students at Queen’s Park High School baked a special birthday cake and individual cakes for all students at the school to celebrate 100 years of education in the city. The celebrations have included reunions, a ball, organised by the Home School Association and past and present students collecting memorabilia for a special exhibition at the school. The exhibition spans the 100 years from 1911, when the Handbridge school opened as the City & County School to 2011, the 40th anniversary of the school becoming a comprehensive.
