Date announced for public service in memory of legendary Cheshire-based horse trainer Ginger McCain

A MEMORIAL service to celebrate the life of legendary Cholmondeley-based horse trainer Ginger McCain will be held next month.

The public service will take place at Liverpool Cathedral, St James Mount, at 2.30pm on Tuesday, November 15.

Aintree Racecourse, where Ginger was a Grand National winner on four occasions, confirmed a date had been set and said everyone is welcome to attend.

A spokesperson added: “The McCain family would like to thank everyone for their wonderful tributes and messages, which have made a very tough time much easier and are overwhelmed by the kindness shown to them.”

Ginger died at his Cholmondeley home in the early hours of Monday, September 19, aged 80, following a battle with cancer.
