Further three years agreed to build new homes near Helsby

AN EXTENSION of time was agreed for the redevelopment of a redundant poultry farm to residential.

The application was made by David Woolley at the Hapsford Poultry Farm, Moor Lane, Hapsford.

Approval for six houses and double garages date back to 2006.

Mr Woolley told planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council he was seeking to extend the permissions by a further three years.

The redundant Green Belt site is occupied by two poultry sheds and a maintenance shed, according to a report.

It is surrounded by trees and hedges.

Planning officers had one letter from a local resident in support of the redevelopment.

The main issue, they suggested, was whether there had been any significant change in the circumstances since the applications were agreed.

The council was required to consider if the original proposals would be acceptable now.

Planners suggested there had been no change to their policies.

The application had been considered to represent very special circumstances to justify inappropriate development in the Green Belt. It would remove the poultry farm from the village. This would improve the amenities of occupiers of neighbouring properties and others in the village.

The application was recommended for approval.
