Children in Frodsham are appealing for help to fly their friends over from Africa

CHARITABLE children are appealing for support to fly their friends from Africa over for a taste of Frodsham life.

Pupils at Frodsham Manor House Primary School on Langdale Way, Frodsham, are hoping to raise thousands of pounds to bring over children from their partnership school in Ghana.

But with each flight costing in the region of £600, the school is appealing for help as it attempts to raise more than £6,000 to fly over the 10 children from the Living Star School, Accra, Ghana.

Every July three teachers visit the school to see how the education system works in the UK, but this year the school is hoping to bring a gang of 10 to 12-year-olds so they can meet new friends and get a taste of English life.

Teacher Naomi Anstice said: “Profits from our last summer musical and raffle and donations from our PTA have already paid for two children, and we have a number of fundraising events planned for this term.

“We are really hoping that parents and local people and organisations will be able to help by making a donation – however big or small – to show support from the local community.”

Anyone who thinks they can help with the planned visit should contact Naomi Anstice on 01928 732341 or email nomeandian@hotmail.com.
