Traffic is tailing back on the A41 after two cars collided near Backford

POLICE were called after two cars collided on the A41 near Backford.

At just after 5pm today (Monday) officers attended the A41 at the junction on Whitby Lane of the A5032.

No one is thought to have been hurt in the accident which involved a silver Renault Scenic and a silver Corsa.

The road remains blocked following the incident while police remove the vehicles and clear the area.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said that officers at the scene were working towards reopening the road as soon as possible.
