Chester murder trial: Jury due to be sworn in on Tuesday

A JURY will be sworn in tomorrow in the case of a couple accused of murdering a Chester man.

Boyfriend Scott Davidson, 23, of Frodsham and girlfriend Rachael Horton, 19, of Hawthorn Road, Little Sutton, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today (Monday) accused of killing Martin Ithell.

Mr Ithell, of Great Boughton, Chester, was shot and stabbed in an incident alleged to have taken place at Mr Davidson's home in Hawthorne Road, Frodsham, on March 11.

Both defendants deny the charge.

Judge Goldstone QC, Honorary Recorder of Liverpool, said there was not enough time to swear in the jury this afternoon but this is expected to take place after legal arguments tomorrow morning.

Davidson and Horton were remanded in custody.
