Abbey Gate College governor at Buckingham Palace garden party

A SCHOOL governor enjoyed a right royal reception this summer.
Abbey Gate College chairman of governors, Maria Heywood, received an invitation to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace hosted by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, in recognition of her dedication to the role.
Maria attended the event with husband Kevin. She said: “We met some fascinating people including servicemen and women from all ranks, bishops, the Royal Chaplains, and people who do charitable work in their community.Š We felt very honoured to be there.”
