Residents enjoy family fun day in Newtown
RESIDENTS turned out in force for a family fun day at St Anne’s Field in Newtown on Saturday.
About 50 Newtown locals enjoyed a day of fun-packed activities including a dog show, face painting and plenty of children’s sports games.
Michelle Talgam, Cheshire West & Chester Council area manager and one of the event organisers, said: “As well as drumming up community spirit, the event gave the council an opportunity to liaise with locals on the uses of St Anne’s Field, which has been a topic of debate in the area recently.”
She added: “I’m really pleased with the whole day which was a great success. It was a great way to unite the people of Newtown, who got the chance to have their say on how their local community is run.”
