Police investigate fire at derelict building in Ellesmere Port

POLICE are investigating after an early hours fire at a derelict building in Ellesmere Port.

Two pumps were called out to the blaze at the vacant house in Chester Road just after 2am on Saturday.

It took crews more than three hours to put out the flames and ensure the surrounding area was safe.

Nobody was hurt in the blaze, and police were also in attendance at the scene.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue said: “The incident is being investigated by police but we cannot say further than that at this stage.”
