Hollywood comes to Tarporley

MOVIE buffs in Tarporley will be able to go out and watch their favourite films – without even leaving the village.

Tarporley Rotary Club are planning to run film nights at the Community Centre after two similar evenings earlier this year proved to be a huge success.

The film nights, set to run from October until May next year, will show a variety of popular movies to appeal to all the community.

Tony Yeates from the Rotary Club, who has been organising the film nights, is asking Tarporley residents what films they want to see.

He said: “We have still to choose the films but some ideas we have received and are considering are Kite Runner, The English Patient, Mamma Mia and The King’s Speech.

“We need to know which ones would have the most appeal and are asking people in Tarporley to let us know their top three films.

“We really want to provide a service to the village, whilst also organising events that will help bring people of all generations together and help to develop community spirit in the village.

“The film nights will generate a small profit which will be ploughed back in to good causes.”

The film nights are scheduled for October 21, November 18, December 16, January 20, March 16, April 20 and May 18.

To let the Rotary Club know your top three films email filmnight@tarporleyrotary.org.uk.
