Chronicle reporter is preparing to get behind the wheel to raise money for Chester charities

A CHESTER reporter is preparing for the drive of her life as she gets behind the wheel to raise money for local lifesaving charities.

On Saturday, September 17, Chronicle multimedia journalist Rachel Flint will be jumping into the driving seat of a tractor, fire engine and even a double-decker bus to raise money with the Chester Lions Club.

The 23-year-old will be joining hundreds of other women to take part in the club’s Ladies Driving Challenge, where women can drive exciting and unusual vehicles – including a Porsche – around Poulton Airfield.

Rachel says she is hoping to raise more than £100 in sponsorship money for the challenge, which will be divided between the Lion’s charities Miles of Smiles, Claire House Children’s Hospice and St John Ambulance.

“I’m really nervous but very excited about the challenge, it is a great opportunity to drive some unusual and interesting vehicles and raise money for local charities at the same time.”

There are still places left to take part in the Ladies Driving Challenge, from September 17-18. For further information, telephone 0151 324 4330.
