Chester company claims its innovative device will reduce electricity bills

A CHESTER-BASED electrical company claims its innovative voltage optimisation device will reduce electricity bills by up to 12%.

Energy-efficiency company VPhase, which is based in Capenhurst, has brought out a device that prevents energy waste, lowers electricity bills and reduces carbon emissions.

Named after its company, the VPhase can be fitted into your home by any qualified electrician for £300, with a projected lifetime of 36 years.

It claims to lower and regulate the electrical supply to 220 volts, meaning appliances will work more efficiently at an optimum level of voltage, but crucially, use less electricity.

Staff at VPhase say trials conducted last year in terraced houses in the Great Places Housing Group, which provides homes in council areas across the North West, demonstrated average electrical energy savings of 8.7% and average yearly CO2 savings of 183kg.

Great Places now plans to install the VPhase in its future rewires and new buildings.

Matthew Cody, head of marketing at VPhase, said all eco-friendly residents should install the device in their homes.

“This really is the best new thing that people need in their homes,” he said.

“The fact is, once it’s installed you can virtually forget about it for the next 36 years and just enjoy lower electricity bills.”

He added: “You can spend thousands on putting solar panels on your home and other expensive things to save the planet, but this is low-cost, proven technology.

“I have it in my home and I can see that I’m using 220 volts instead of 245. We just want everyone to know about this product, as it really is the next best thing to save energy.”
