Emergency services say “no definite intelligence” to suggest riots will occur in Cheshire

CHESHIRE Fire and Rescue Service and Cheshire Police met this week to prepare for the possibility of incidents in the county.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “While there is no definite intelligence to suggest that riots or disorder are likely to occur in Cheshire at this stage, Cheshire Police are reassuring the public that people who use social networking sites as a means of inciting unlawful behaviour will be traced and be brought before the courts.

“Senior personnel will be attending further joint meetings at Cheshire Police Headquarters and with local police command units.”
