Fifth annual Rotary Motorshow to take place in Frodsham

HUNDREDS of classic cars, motorbikes, buses, tractors and scooters will come racing into Frodsham this weekend to raise money for charity.

On Sunday (July 31) thousands of motor enthusiasts are expected to flock to the town to enjoy vehicles ranging from the classic to the luxurious, the colourful to the bizarre in the glorious sunshine.

The fifth annual Rotary Motor Show, which is organised by the Frodsham and Helsby Rotary Club, is predicted to be the most successful ever after more than 4,000 visitors filled the lawns at the community centre last year.

This year while parents and adults browse the lines of parked vintage vehicles children can enjoy fairground rides, stalls, entertainment and fun and games in the glorious sunshine.

After raising around £2,500 last year, the Rotary Club are hoping that good weather will make the event the most successful ever, drawing between 130-150 cars, bikes, tractors and buses for visitors to enjoy.

Vince Akers, of the Frodsham and Helsby Rotary Club, said: “We are hoping to raise even more money this year for local charities.

“We can never predict how many people will turn up, but if the sun shines that always help so we are keeping our fingers crossed for good weather.”

The Rotary Motorshow kick starts at 10-4pm on Sunday July 31, at Frodsham Community Centre, Fluin lane, Frodsham. Admission is £3.50, while children get in free.
