Frodsham schoolboy follows in great-grandmother’s footsteps by raising money for charity

A CHARITABLE schoolboy has followed in the footsteps of his great-grandmother by dedicating his free time to raising money to help fight cancer.

At just six-years-old Louie Bostock, of Weaver Road, Frodsham surprised his parents when he announced he wanted to raise money to help battle the devastating disease.

The schoolboy, who attends Frodsham Manor House Primary School, decided to raise money for Clatterbridge Cancer Research following in the footsteps of his great-grandmother, Winnie Moss, who dedicated her life to the charity before she sadly died two years ago.

Louie’s proud dad, John Bostock said that his son’s interest in fundraising came out of the blue, saying: “We don’t know where the charity idea came from, maybe it was something he had seen on TV, but he was pretty insistent.

“We had a chat and decided between us that a book swap at his school would be a good plan.”

With a little help from his parents, John and Sarah, and headteacher Ian Devereaux-Roberts, Louie organised a school book exchange where he raised £50 for the life-saving charity.

Head of fundraising for Clatterbridge Jo Parry said: “It’s fantastic that somebody as young as Louie has organised a fundraising event for us. We are really grateful to him.”
