Family pays tribute to crash victim Michael Killemede from Chester

TRIBUTES are being paid to a Chester cyclist who died following a collision last month on the Central Expressway in Runcorn.

Michael Killemede, 47, of Brookvale, who was originally from Chester, was riding his pedal cycle at 12.05pm on Thursday, June 30, when he collided with a Renault box van, being driven by a 39-year-old man.

Mr Killemede was thrown from his bike and suffered injuries which proved to be fatal.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A statement from the family said: “Mike’s wife Louise and stepchildren Teresa, Amanda, and Gary are devastated at his untimely death.

“Mike was a devoted husband and step father. Mike had time for everyone and he had a smile which would light up any room he entered.

“Mike was a keen walker and cyclist, and loved outdoor life and animals.

“He will be so sorely missed by all who knew him.”

No funeral arrangements have been made at present.
