An annual donkey derby in Frodsham raised £2,000 for Frodsham Cricket Club

GALLOPING donkeys entertained crowds and raised buckets of money in Frodsham.
People gathered at Frodsham Community Centre to watch six donkeys tear around the race course on July 2, encouraged by schoolchildren picked out from the audience.
The annual event, which was sponsored by local businesses, helped to raise hundreds of pounds for Frodsham Cricket Club.
The derby, which has been the cricket club’s major annual fundraiser for more than 20 years, is thought to have been the best ever, raising £2,000 to help pay for an extension to the clubs’ pavilion.
