PEOPLE are being encouraged to dance their way to fitness and coin in the cash for charity at the same time.
Jill Raine, who teaches regular fitness classes at The Studio in Tattenhall is organising a ‘Going Yellow’ dance event at The Barbour Institute, where she will teach two classes of the latest dance craze ‘Nia’.
Nia dance is an advanced form of fusion fitness, which aims to help achieve greater strength, flexibility and mobility – as well as helping to improve mental, emotional and spiritual health.
Open to all ages and fitness levels, the ‘Going Yellow’ event on June 18, will include a ‘Mellow Yellow’ class, more suitable for beginners, and the ‘Yellow Resonant Warrior’ class – a faster, more upbeat routine.
All guests are encouraged to wear yellow clothing and there will be a prize for the ‘Best Dressed Dancer’ in both classes, which cost £5 and £8 respectively.
Proceeds from the stalls selling bric-a-brac, plants, clothing, gifts, cards and books, will all go towards raising funds for The Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford.
There will also be a raffle and a tombola.
Jill said: “The Hospice at Backford is a local charity which relies on donations and I believe in doing positive things for the local community. We hope to raise a good amount for them with this event.”
