Cheshire Taste Cafe opens at Chester Visitor Centre

CHESHIRE has a new celebrity chef.

Dave Mooney moved to Chester just three weeks ago, opening the new Cheshire Taste Café in the Chester Visitor Centre.

But he has already represented the city in a new TV series.

Perfect pitches top chefs against each other to come up with the perfect dish, and Dave was asked to judge Brian Turner and Mark Sargeant as they battled to produce the perfect roast dinner.

The episode has already aired on the Good Food Channel and entailed a day of blind tasting in London.

Dave is no stranger to appearing on TV after years with Granada Breeze, representing the best of Cheshire with the Hairy Bikers and recently as the Cheshire expert on Market Kitchen.

Speaking about his new venture in Chester, he said: “I was looking for the quality of the ingredients to speak for themselves.

“We are about supporting local producers and featuring seasonal produce, such as local asparagus which has just come into season.”

The Cheshire Taste Café can be found in the Chester Visitor Centre, opposite the Amphitheatre.
