CHARITABLE residents braved rain and wind to raise thousands of pounds for Cancer Research.
Members of Helsby Golf Club donned their running shoes to take part in the annual Race For Life in Delamere Forest.
Among the crowds were Helsby Golf Club members Jackie Eve and Ruth Metcalfe, who trained for months to take part in the run.
They celebrated at the finish line after beating their personal targets, raising more than £260 for the breast cancer charity.
And the runners were kept in line by 13 members of the Frodsham and Helsby Rotary Club who helped to organise, marshal and manage the race, which was heralded a massive success despite the weather.
