A SINGER made running the Chester Half Marathon on Sunday a family affair.
Sophie Parry, a member of girl band Indigo, ran the 13 miles with sister Camilla and dad Jon to raise funds for Dementia UK.
The trio were running in memory of Jon’s dad and the girls’ grandad Bill, who died in 2009 from vascular dementia.
Sophie, 24, a PR manager for jeweller Chlo-Bo, has raised £239 so far.
Police inspector Jon, 52, of Guilden Sutton, last ran the half-marathon in the 1980s, when it first started, but still managed to come in 29 minutes before Sophie, 24, a first-time runner.
Camilla, 28, who is a marketing manager for Bank of America, was out in front, finishing the course in just one hour, 40 minutes – 10 minutes better than her previous record.
She said: “Running any race is an achievement but this was made even more special because we ran it as a father and daughter team and in the process Sophie has managed to raise more than £200 for a cause close to our hearts.”
