Dozens of activists gathered in Chester to remember the victims of Chernobyl

ANTI-NUCLEAR activists gathered in Chester city centre to mark the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster.

Activists from across Cheshire and Wrexham distributed leaflets and asked shoppers to sign a petition from Cumbria against the burying of nuclear waste.

The gathering marked the anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor disaster, and saw activists spreading the word of the dangers of nuclear power.

Genny Bove of Wrexham Peace and Justice Forum said: “We owe it to the people who have lost their lives or their health to Chernobyl to learn from our mistakes and make sure that such a disaster cannot happen again.”
