Newton celebrates the royal wedding with street party

NEWTON residents enjoyed a royal wedding street party in The Nook.
Though Richard Coulthard and Rob Bateman did the majority of the organising, with a little help from their wives Claire and Heather, the whole street came together for a big celebration.
Traditional party food and games such as apple dunking and face-painting all added to the fun – and more than 150 residents attended the festivities, which included live music and a disco.
Richard said: “When we kicked this off we never imagined it working out this well – it’s been a great day which has really brought the community together.”
