Bunbury hairdresser goes bald to help save life of beloved dog
HAIRDRESSER Suzanne Badder has gone bald to thank customers for helping to fund a life-changing operation for her beloved pet pooch.
Suzanne, who runs The Salon in Bunbury, and girlfriend Lisa Garner cherish their Patterdale terrier Molly like other couples might love a child.
So when four-year-old Molly developed paralysis in her back legs they couldn’t face having her put down.
Their only hope is a £4,000 operation, which has a 90% chance of success, but they didn’t have the £2,500 deposit.
Luckily, Molly, who Suzanne refers to as the ‘scruffy little black thing’, is so well-loved at her hairdressing business that customers wanted to donate towards the cost, with other contributions from the couple’s Facebook friends. One particular customer recovering from cancer, whose hair has just started to grow back following treatment, has even loaned them £1,000.
Suzanne, 37, a self-confessed ‘character’, has almost raised enough for the deposit. She said it seemed somehow appropriate for friend James Mitchell to shave off all her hair as a thank you to donors.
Suzanne, from Winsford, said: “Everyone wanted to save my dog. It’s so sweet. I’m amazed by the support everyone has given.”
