Cause of fatal house fire in Peckforton still not established, say investigators

FIRE crews are still trying to establish the cause of a house fire which resulted in the death of a 61-year old man.

Together with Cheshire Police forensic teams, crews are still at the man’s home in Stone House Lane, Peckforton.

Station manager Martin Dowle, who attended the incident, said: “This is a tragic incident and we currently have a fire investigation team working at this property to establish the cause.

“The firefighters who were first on the scene faced a difficult incident with flames coming from the front and rear of the property. Fortunately we prevented the fire from spreading to the house next door.”
