Boat fire in Blacon may have been started maliciously, say fire service

FIRE crews suspect that a boat fire in Chester was started maliciously.

The boat, which was in the driveway of a house in Hillside Road in Blacon, was well alight when fire fighters arrived to tackle the blaze at 11.05pm on Thursday.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Two appliances from Chester proceeded to a report of a boat fire on a driveway at Hillside Road, Chester. “On arrival, crews found one small boat well alight and extinguished the fire using one hose reel with one set of breathing apparatus. “There was some fire damage to a single storey porch and an ambulance was requested for a female with smoke inhalation.”
