BISHOP Heber High School students went the extra mile to do something funny for money for Comic Relief.
They raised £2,000 in a host of different ways.
Year 7 pupils raised £322 by making and selling more than 800 cakes and washing staff cars and sixth formers raised £250 selling cakes and playing a rather unusual netball game.
The boys rugby team donned netball skirts and hair bobbles to take on the under-19 girls team, narrowly losing five goals to six in front of a crowd of more than 200 pupils.
Elsewhere, Year 10s Elliot Yeomans raised £200 dressing up as Lady Ga Ga, and Year 7 student Matthew Jones ran eight miles to school, watched by his mum who followed behind in her car.
Others had fun dressing up as their favourite superheroes and the 118 men.
Louise Robinson, head of Year 7 said: “The Red Nose Day was a great success with so many students involved in contributing to a wide range of activities in a fun and enthusiastic way. Funds raised will make a difference to many lives”
