TEACHERS at Chester’s Queen’s School tried to get out of the jungle for Comic Relief.
Barry Weaver, Paul Bates, Ian Abell, Damien McKeown, Sue Bright, Hannah Daniels, Karen Whitwell and Laura Blundell took part in a fundraising project entitled I’m a Teacher Get Me Out of Here.
The first challenge was to retrieve a red nose each from a bowl of jelly and flour. Pupils voted on their attempts and the girls’ team won.
Not satisfied with that humiliation, the teachers then camped out overnight in a field in Wales where they undertook various silly tasks while being filmed.
Pupils then paid £1 to watch the action in the school hall on Red Nose Day, March 18.
Girls paid an extra £1 to dress up for the day and the combined project raised more than £1,200 for the Comic Relief charity.
Girls at the Lower School on Liverpool Road paid £1 each to dress in red. The School Council also baked cakes raising a total of £653.61.Š
