Infants at Hopscotch day Nursery in Chester enjoy day of cultural awareness to support victims of Japanese tsunami
INFANTS enjoyed a day immersing themselves in Japanese culture to raise much needed cash and awareness for the victims of the tsunami.
On Monday, March 21, staff and children at the Hopscotch Day Nursery on Parkgate Road, Chester, spent the day dressing up in traditional Japanese outfits, tasting oriental dishes, singing songs and playing games.
The children, who are all under five, even made their own Japanese flags, and learnt about earthquakes and tsunamis to give them a greater understanding of natural disasters.
Reflecting on the culture day nursery manager Jayde Cole said; “It was fantastic. It was great for us to be able to do something for the people so far away.”
