A RUNNING team from a city centre restaurant is asking for sponsorship to support the Help for Heroes charity.
The group from, the Blackhouse Grill, Newgate Street, Chester, has been training hard over the past three months in preparation for the 2011 Liverpool Half Marathon.
It will be joining 7,500 runners on Sunday to run the gruelling 13.1 miles which starts and finishes at Wapping Dock in Liverpool.
The Blackhouse Grill team includes general manager Alex Jarrett, 29, Matthew Lewis, 24 and Sheena Marr, 28, who are keen to back the Help for Heroes charity which supports wounded servicemen and women.
Alex said “Not only has the training been great for staff team building and morale, but raising money for a charity such as Help for Heroes is a great motivation to get running. It is the least we can do to thank those who have served their country. We have wanted to support Help for Heroes ever since we saw a local barracks come home from Afghanistan.”
The team, which is being supported by friends, family and diners, has set up a charity website for donations. Visit: www.bmycharity.com/blackhousegrill
