ABBEY Gate School in Hoole resounded to the sounds of music, song and laughter when it hosted a performing arts activity day for its own pupils and other children from the area.
The children, divided into blue, yellow and red teams, took part in a series of exciting workshops around the theme of Robin Hood.
They made shields, swords and hats in the craft workshop while learning about the symbolism in heraldry, then moved on to telling the story of Robin of Sherwood through singing, acting and dancing.
Children and teachers worked together to produce a lively, colourful show at the end of the day for the enjoyment of the parents who came to watch.
Headteacher Sue Fisher said: “This event was the first of its kind for us and proved to be a wonderful day.
“The children enjoyed themselves enormously and achieved an amazing standard of performance in such a short time.
“It was lovely to welcome other local children into our school. I am sure that this is an event we will hope to repeat in the future.”
