Council leader to put Chester on global map

COUNCIL leader Mike Jones will be giving a talk at an international conference being held in the Gulf state of Abu Dhabi.

Cllr Jones, leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, will be hosted at Global City 2011 courtesy of Crown Prince General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyanm, who will pay food and accommodation costs.

The council leader will join the world’s top urban planners, decision-makers, mayors and international media for the three day event taking place March 15-17.

A council spokesman said the authority only had to pay for an economy class return flight ticket. It was an opportunity “to put Chester on a global platform” with regards to attracting potential inward investment.
